Parallax is an educational design game developed to encourage an intuitive understanding of visual pattern making. Two of the most fundamental concepts in pattern making are understanding tessellations and the figure and ground relationship, both of which feature prominently in Parallax gameplay. See video for game play instructions.

The board is fabricated from machinable acrylic and laser cut as are the accompanying pattern tiles. The tiles also feature stunning images from the Hubble telescope.
